First Micrometer Worldwide to Feature
2-Millimeter Spindle Feed per Revolution
Measuring times cut in half will be realised by this newly developed micrometer featuring a two millimeter spindle feed with every single revolution of the ratchet thimble.
Even with challenging tasks like measuring multiple-stepped cylindrical workpieces single-handedly the novelty tool „QuantuMike“, developed by the world’s leading manufacturer of small measuring tools, performs approxi-mately fifty percent faster compared to customary digital micrometers.
Unlike ordinary tools commonly featuring a pitch of 0.5 millimeters per thim-ble revolution QuantuMike moves the anvil two millimeters per revolution effecting four times the distance. This is even achieved with a higher preci-sion of 2 µm thus surpassing the requirements stated for accuracy according to DIN 863.
The enlarged thread pitch comes combined with other features for ease of application and enhanced performance: a patented ratchet mechanism pro-viding stability for various applications, for example the one-hand measure-ment or procedures employing a tool stand. The ratchet can be operated by the thimble as well as by the speeder.
Noteworthy is also the device’s extraordinary resistance against dust and water. In addition the QuantuMike with it’s special “Coolant Proof“ construc-tion is protected from deterioration by emulsions, oily/fatty substances and coolants. Thanks to these properties the QuantuMike is also suited for the rough and demanding conditions of the machine application.
This outstanding IP protection class has been expertly documented by re-spective certificates from the TÜV Rheinland Group.
Two different models are available featuring measuring ranges of 0-25 and 25-50 millimeters, either with or without data connector.
Wireless Data Transmission
from Measuring Instruments to PC
The new U-WAVE radio transmission system for data transfer from small tool instruments to PC excels in high operational reliability as well as outstanding economic efficiency.
U-WAVE allows for about 400,000 data transmissions in an operating distance of up to 20 meters before you will have to replace the batteries. Up to 100 measuring instruments may be connected to one single receiver, and a total of 16 U-WAVE receivers may be linked to the PC via commercial USB hub.
The 2.4 GHz band used as frequency range is settable between 2.405 GHz and 2.475 GHz to avoid radio interference if multiple receivers or other components are operated simultaneously.
The new system enables importing measuring data from Mitutoyo instruments equipped with digimatic data output to standard programs such as Excel or WordPad as well as any customary statistic software, like, for example, Mitutoyo MeasurLink. A virtual COM driver is provided to load measured data into programs supporting serial RS-232C communication.
Extraordinary process reliability is achieved by visual and/or acoustical confirmation of the data transfer - output by red/green LEDs on the transmitter and, with the buzzer-type model, as an additional buzzer signal.
The transmitter unit with visual confirmation only is equipped with the outstanding protection class according to IP67, thus perfectly suited for rough working environments.
The separation of cable and transmitter into two separate components proves to be particularly practice-oriented and cost-saving:
If you want to use one transmitter with different measuring instruments you may act very flexibly by just exchanging the connecting cable.
The new digimatic indicators ID-N and ID-B
for rough working environments
Mitutoyo offers two new digimatic indicators especially developed for flexible mounting on machines and in installations in case of rough environmental conditions and limitations in space. Outstanding features of these instruments are: protection class IP66, display orientation changeable by 180 degrees and variable display mounting.
The practical display orientation options allow for mounting the new digimatic indicators even where space is limited as well as overarm application in systems and machines.
The two versions of the series provide two different display orientations: in model ID-N the display is arranged parallelly and in model ID-B rectangularly to the spindle, thus offering an additional advantage for optimal mounting within the manufacturing process.
In comparison to round indicators the rectangular casing design of only 35 mm width allows for arranging more indicators in in-line configurations where space is limited.
Protection class IP66 according to DIN EN 60529 proves the novelty to be extremely resistent against dust and strong water jets and, in addition, against oil.
Measuring Microscopes MF and MF-U
with new optical system
The latest versions of Mitutoyo's measuring microscopes MF and MF-U represent the top class in this category. They provide an impressively brighter and sharper high-contrast image than other comparable systems.
These added benefits are ensured by a multitude of special features employed in the optical system, such as an additional aperture for reducing unwanted internal reflections by a good 20 per cent, measures for reducing the field curvature of the eyepiece, solutions for minimizing objective flicker, an optimized aperture diaphragm diameter and, finally, the employment of a film instead of the glass plate normally used for generating diffuse light. The last mentioned improvement alone more than duplicates the system’s light efficiency.
The measuring stage feeding mechanism does not use threaded rods anymore but employs a newly developed twist roller method where three rollers are arranged in an offset position to the driveshaft for more precision and ease-of-use.
The model MF is especially suited for challenging applications in large measuring ranges and the MF-U version, in addition, may also be used for metallurgical inspections.
Hardness Tester Micro Vickers HM-200:
Multifunctional and convenient
The new multifunctional hardness tester Mikrovickers HM-200 according to ISO 6507 and JIS B 7725 is standard equipped with a turret mechanism for automatic and manual operation. The bounteous delivery scope of this novelty also includes a camera adapter and, furthermore, an integrated touchscreen control panel.
The Mikrovickers HM-200 operates without weights – thus allowing for more exact test force generation by electromagnetic loading.
The objectives employed in this instrument provide an outstanding ease-of-use due to their long working distance. In addition, the Mikrovickers HM-200 may be equipped with a turret for up to four objectives and up to two indenters (Knoop/Vickers).
Sensorpak: New software for
multiple-channel measuring systems
The new display and communication program "Sensorpak" enables on-line management of up to 60 digimatic indicators or linear gages, thus rendering tedious program creation for multi-channel measuring systems obsolete.
In Sensorpak you may link up to 30 measured values which may be determined and displayed separately or jointly for calculation such as addition or substraction. The new program facilitates for example thickness or step measurement performed with digimatic indicators or linear gages.
For tolerance judgement of measured values and results three different display modes are available: counter display, bar graph and analog meter. All three display functions support discrimination of Good-/NG values with highlighted green or red backgrounds.
Particularly interesting: bi-directional communication between digimatic indicators/linear gages and controller or display unit is possible if the sensors are laid-out accordingly.
