Over the last decades, Mitutoyo has distinguished itself as the world-wide accepted most innovative supplier of length measuring technique.

Six Mitutoyo-owned facilities for research and development are available word-wide, two in Japan, in the USA and in Europe, respectively. In Europe, the acitivities in R&D are focussed on the Mitutoyo Research Center Europe B.V. in The Netherlands and on the German Computer Technology Laboratory Mitutoyo CTL Germany GmbH in Oberndorf on Neckar, which is engaged exclusively in developing software for three-coordinate-measuring technique, setting world standards with their products.

The results of these world-wide research and development activities taking all important markets into account are products featuring an exemplary performance, reliability and quality.  The Mitutoyo users are provided with guarantees for these qualities in any relevant form.  As patents – e. g. for the pioneering Absolute System -, as TÜV certificate of quality, as accreditation, as certification, as calibration certificate, as extremely high IP protection class or as a world-wide valid product warranty.
